Core Telecom has reaffirmed its support of its chosen charity, Dreams and Wishes, this month by providing a brand new fundraising channel to ensure that the charity can continue its work.
The charity are currently in preparations for their next major fundraising event, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro so Core wanted to provide an efficient way for people to be able to show their support and donate, which we have done by setting up a SMS fundraising facility.
Through this, the charity is now able to provide a quick and easy way to receive donations, by allowing supporters to simply send a text message with a keyword to the given short code number.
We have also provided the same facility to another corporate supporter of Dreams & Wishes, Fullcircle Facilities Management Ltd, as they are also planning to climb Kilimanjaro in support of the charity.
Core has provided three short codes, with each one donating a different amount. The keyword ‘CLIMB’ has been provided for use by Fullcircle to help raise money for their climb, with each text donating £3 when it is sent to 70111.
Dreams & Wishes now has two keywords, ‘DREAMS’ which donates £3 per text and ‘WISHES’ which donates £10 per text, both of which will go straight to the charity, helping to continue to grant the wishes of seriously ill children.
Tony Curtis, chairman of Dreams & Wishes, is delighted with the new fundraising channel: “This new way of fundraising will make a huge difference to the charity, as donating is now so easy to do.
“Core Telecom have provided vital support to the charity over the years and this is another example of how they ensure that we are able to focus on the children who are in need of our help”.
Mahmood Mazhar, CEO of Core Telecom, said: “Core has been supporting Dreams & Wishes from its beginning in 2011 and the company is delighted to be associated with such a fantastic cause.
“The work that they do is inspirational so we wanted to be able to make sure that they continue to make such a difference. Most people send text messages every day, so the codes provide a very easy way to show support for the charity”.
