As an established and well respected network operator which provides network services to many resellers and service providers, Core Telecom are meticulous in ensuring our services, and those operated by our customers, meet all of the regulations required by PhonePayPlus and Ofcom.
For this reason, we were concerned to receive a small number of reports recently from people who were receiving unsolicited phone calls which were apparently being made by Core Telecom. Having immediately investigated the situation, we can confirm that Core Telecom was not responsible for the calls, however they were originating from one of our business customers who was using our number ranges. We immediately suspended the services.
Core Telecom was not responsible for these calls but we would like to apologise to anybody affected by them. We believe that our swift action demonstrates our commitment to outstanding customer service.
We would advise anyone receiving unsolicited phone calls to register with the Telephone Preference Service. The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) is a central opt out register whereby individuals can register their wish not to receive unsolicited sales and marketing telephone calls. It is a legal requirement that companies do not make such calls to numbers registered on the TPS. The service is free and takes up to 28 days to become effective after registration.
