Core Telecom’s managing director Paul Turner is currently taking part in a gruelling 7 day cycling event all in aid of raising money for Dreams & Wishes charity.
Paul will be cycling a total of 750km over 7 days from Barcelona to Anglet Basque Coast in France as part of the Haute Route cycling event.
The event is one of the toughest cyclosportives in the world for amateur road cyclists and will see over 600 riders take part.
Paul is a keen cyclist and has been taking part in events and races for a number of years. He has previously combined his love of cycling with charity fundraising by taking part in a 24 hour cyclothon at Brands Hatch in 2011 where he raised over £1800 for various charities.
“Dreams & Wishes do some fantastic work, so it is the perfect opportunity to raise both money and awareness for the charity in an event like this,” Paul said, earlier today.
“The event has been hard work but very enjoyable. The terrain is extremely challenging but there’s nothing more rewarding than completing each stage and knowing you’re doing something that will help many others.”
Dreams & Wishes are a children’s charity working to fulfil the dreams of seriously ill children. Core Telecom has worked closely with the charity since it began in 2011, providing monetary and business support to ensure the charity can continue its work.
