Core Telecom has continued its charity work through Dreams & Wishes, by supporting Darren White, as he prepares his future fundraising activities.
Darren is an fitness instructor in the RAF, and works closely with the Red Arrows Display Team. Throughout 2013 Darren is planning a number of fundraising events throughout the year in the aid of raising money to ensure the work of the charity continues to help the young people affected by serious illness.
Core has supplied specialised training kits for Darren and his 8-man team, to help them throughout their preparation and minimise the risk of injury, as well as raising awareness for the charity throughout the training and the events.
“It is essential that we have the correct training kit to maximise our development and I would like to say a massive thank you to Core Telecom for agreeing to support our charity work.
“I look forward to raising money for an extremely amazing charity such as Dreams & Wishes,” says Darren.
Along with his team at RAF Scampton, where he is based as a Physical Training Instructor, Darren will undertake a number of challenges, including a 24 hour ‘Spin-Cycling’ event in Lincoln town centre and a 10km road race in April, in the build-up to his final event. As his last challenge, he will single-handedly pull a Red Arrow Hawk Jet for one mile in September.
Darren has a long history of charity work, and is now solely affiliated with Dreams & Wishes, Core’s charity of choice, after relative, Macsen Giess, who was also an ambassador for the charity, was supported through his difficult illness by their good work.
CEO of Core and Dreams & Wishes ambassador, Mahmood Mazhar is delighted to support Darren’s efforts: “After the loss of Macsen, I think it’s amazing that Darren is doing all of this to raise money for the amazing work at the charity does, and these training kits will hopefully help them to maximise the amount they raise!”
