Let’s take a trip down memory lane to the days when field trips, some of the best moments in school life, were made easier for the children of The Forest School in Knaresborough. This school, a haven for 108 remarkable children, supports those facing challenges such as moderate to severe learning difficulties, Autism, Epilepsy, and communication difficulties.
Thanks to a generous donation from our CEO, Mahmood Mazhar, these children can travel with ease. A brand-new coach, valued at £20,000, opened doors to a world of possibilities. Field trips that were once unachievable have now become opportunities to explore, learn, and grow in exciting new environments.
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony, held on Friday, 23rd September 2016, was a joyous occasion. Pupils, staff, and dignitaries from Variety, the Children’s Charity, came together to celebrate this milestone. The coach is more than just a vehicle; it’s a symbol of inclusivity, offering these kids the chance to experience the world in new ways.
These outings, made possible by the new coach, are transformative for the children. Seeing new places, hearing new sounds, and touching different textures ignite their curiosity, helping them engage with others, and create unforgettable memories.
This story is a powerful reminder of the impact generosity can have. By supporting organisations like The Forest School, we can break down barriers and empower children with special needs to reach their full potential.
Let’s celebrate this incredible act of kindness and the bright future it promises for the students at The Forest School!
